The REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING for the Town of Springfield was called to order by Dean Fayerweather at 6:30 p.m. PRESENT: Chair: Dean Fayerweather, Supervisors: Barry Ketchum & James Mahoney, Clerk/Treasurer Sheri Erickson, Mark Erickson, Robert Lee and Dawn O’Brian.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Dean to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Certified Survey Map:
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the Waldo Rott CSM. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Jim & 2nd by Barry to approve the Robert Lee CSM. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the May Regular Monthly minutes as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve the May 22 Special minutes as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Dean to approve the June 7 Special minutes as presented. Motion carried.
The May financial report was presented. A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Barry to approve the report as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve the bills to be paid in June at a total of $14,989.05. Motion carried.
Clerk report:
Absentee Envelope Subgrant Announcement <$100 – Christine from County will work on this.
Building Permits report from Josh presented – plus new requests received and forwarded to Josh.
Natalie DeLeasky reported that one house was missing on the assessment submitted and waiver will be signed to add it to this year’s tax roll.
Liquor Licenses:
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Dean to approve liquor license for Glen Hills Golf Club Inc. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve operator licenses. Motion carried.
Road Damage Ordinance:
Dean reported on the State Statues that are in the ordinance.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve the 2023-001 Road Damage Ordinance. Motion carried.
Oakwood Cemetery Update:
Mike gave Mark the key to the storage shed at the cemetery and the township will get the lawn mower and weed whip that is there.
Dean will talk with Beth Pabst about the cemetery deed.
ARPA projects update:
Dean completed some of trim work in the hall area.
Plow Truck Update:
Truck loan will be probably signed on Friday.
Bill can do the lettering on the truck.
Recycling/ Maintenance Report:
May need an extra recycling dumpster. Discussion on how to charge for recycling. Will discuss it more during the special meeting on June 26.
Rick Booth went with Mark to look at roads. Possible roads to chip seal are 110th, 60th and maybe 80th. Dean and Mark did some large pothole patching.
Mark discussed some hoop building and pole shed estimates.
Chairman Report:
Citations: Need to get a number assigned before we can issue citations.
