Special Meeting Minutes – Fence Viewing
Wednesday, November 19, 2025
The Fence viewing for the Town of Springfield was called to order by Barry Ketchum at 4:00 p.m. PRESENT: Chair Barry Ketchem, Supervisors: Warren Benson & James Mahoney, and Keith Kromrey.
The board along with Keith drove back to the property line fence which was installed by neighbor Lester Miller. Keith’s complaint states that the fence of the surveyed property line is off approx. 16” on his side of line. He also states that the fence posts exceed distance from each other that creates a quality fence. East end of the fence line is short approx. 4’ from connecting to the perpendicular line fence. The end post was also brought up as a concern as it was just a metal post tied/braced into another.
Upon fence viewing the board agreed that fence sways back onto Keith’s side of surveyed line and is not straight. The board also observed the gap at the end of the fence as well as the large distance between fence posts and that that the East end post needs to be a wooden post rather than a steel fence post.
Barry will be checking the fence requirements and will be contacting Lester Miller about the fence dispute. The board agreed that corrections to this fence shall be made with further discussion at the December.
Barry will update once contact has been made with Lester Miller.
