July 2025 Regular Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, July 14, 2025
The REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING for the Town of Springfield was called to order by Dean Fayerweather at 6:30 p.m. PRESENT: Chair Dean Fayerweather, Supervisors: Barry Ketchum & James Mahoney, Clerk/Treasurer Sheri Erickson, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Rachael Hawkins, Mark Erickson, Warren Benson, Dave Faber and Dennis Brenneman.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the June Regular Monthly minutes as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the June 27 Special minutes as presented. Motion carried.
The June financial report was presented. A motion was made by Jim & 2nd by Barry to approve the report as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve the bills to be paid in July at a total of $33,552.42. Motion carried.
Conditional Use Application – David Brenneman:
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to do not go through with conditional use application for David Brenneman. Motion carried.
Propane Pre-Buy Contract:
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Dean to prebuy 1,500 gallons of propane from Northwoods Propane @ 1.529/gal. Motion carried.
Appointment of Town Supervisor:
Barry made a motion to appoint Warren Benson as Town Supervisor. Seconded by Jim. Motion carried.
Part Time Employee Hire:
Motion was made by Barry to hire Dean Fayerweather as a part time employee. Motion was seconded by Jim. Motion carried.
Clerk Report:
Sheri explained the issue with filing the state liquor license form.
Clerk provided Building Permit report.
Sheri reported that Recycling Grant was $4,267 from the 2024 year.
Maintenance/Recycling/Cemetery Report:
Mark reported that a culvert needed to be replaced on 290th.
Also some washouts on the gravel roads and trees down.
Mark would like to have some storm protocol set up.
Recycling is going well.
Chairman Report:
Nothing to report
Public Input:
Comment on water in ditch due to culvert set too high.
