March 2025 Regular Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, March 10, 2025
The REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING for the Town of Springfield was called to order by Dean Fayerweather at 6:30 p.m. PRESENT: Chair Dean Fayerweather, Supervisors: Barry Ketchum & James Mahoney, Clerk/Treasurer Sheri Erickson, Mark Erickson, Joseph Moor, Ben Lamb, and Ryan Landini.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Dean to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Jim & 2nd by Barry to approve the February Regular Monthly minutes as presented. Motion carried.
The February financial report was presented. A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve the report as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the bills to be paid in March at a total of $27,276.50. Motion carried.
Certified Survey Map – Ryan Landini:
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Barry to approve the CSM as presented. Motion carried.
County Land Use Application Rezoning Request – Michaela Krear:
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the Rezoning Application as presented. Motion carried.
Spring Valley School Referendum Presentation/Q&A:
Ben Lamb present information on the two referendums questions for the Spring Valley School District which will be on the Spring election.
Cemetery CD:
Sheri reported the cemetery cd had matured and at the time the new rate was 4.74, but by the time of the meeting that special rate was no longer available.
Set April Meeting Date:
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to move the April regular board meeting to Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Motion carried.
Assessment Revaluation Year:
Sheri presented the information from the town assessor about the revaluation options.
Dean made a motion to do the full revaluation this year. Jim seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Animal Control Responsibilities:
Dean expressed his need for help on some of the town duties. Barry stated that he would take over animal control duties.
Clerk Report:
Sheri reported that during the February election, we were audited for Polling Place Accessibility and listed some of the items that will need corrected.
Clerk-Treasurer Discussion:
Looking for places to post the deputy job, Sheri found that we could post on the WI Job Center site for free.
Per prior inquiry by Barry, Sheri found that about 30% of the real estate property taxes will be collected in second half and payment received in August.
Recycling/ Maintenance Report:
Mark stated recycling is going well and the road bans are up. Also issue with one frozen culvert.
Chairman Report:
Dean reported what he knows of Cady’s status on court cases with the Amish.
Public Input:
Comment about snow pushed across the road.
