November 2024 Regular Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, November 11, 2024
The REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING for the Town of Springfield was called to order by Dean Fayerweather at 6:48 p.m. PRESENT: Chair Dean Fayerweather, Supervisors: Barry Ketchum & James Mahoney, Clerk/Treasurer Sheri Erickson, Mark Erickson, Martha Erickson, Harmony Cole, Barbi Manter, Monty Gravseth and Todd Olin.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Dean to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve the October Regular Monthly minutes as presented. Motion carried.
Certified Survey Map for Glenwood Apple Orchard:
Dean made a motion to accept the CSM for Glenwood Apple Orchard. Jim seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The October financial report was presented. A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Dean to approve the report as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve the bills to be paid in November at a total of $30,343.27. Motion carried.
Clerk report:
Building Permits report was provided.
Sheri reported that the General Election Day was very busy and that the poll workers did an excellent job in getting the 609 voters through with 67 new voter registrations.
Clerk-Treasurer Discussion:
There will be a meeting at a later date to discuss this more.
Adopt the 2025 Budget:
Jim made a motion to adopt the 2025 budget. Dean seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Recycling/ Maintenance Report:
The new cold storage shed is being built.
Cutting ditches is still on going.
Chairman Report:
Dean reported that the attorney still hasn’t returned his phone call on the filing status.
Dean talked with Heather at corporation counsel about the Amish issue and he is planning on attending the county board meeting during public input on 12/3.
Housing Development:
Monty Gravseth and Todd Olin presented a concept plan of a residential development on the NW corner of 90th Avenue and 280th Street. Map provided showed the layout of 27 lots.
