November 2023 Regular Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, November 13, 2023
The REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING for the Town of Springfield was called to order by Dean Fayerweather at 6:44 p.m. PRESENT: Chair: Dean Fayerweather, Supervisors: Barry Ketchum & James Mahoney, Clerk/Treasurer Sheri Erickson, Mark Erickson, and David Ashleson
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Dean to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the October Regular Monthly minutes as presented. Motion carried.
The October financial report was presented. A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve the report as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Barry to approve the bills to be paid in November at a total of $8,429.35. Motion carried.
Clerk report:
Building Permits report provided.
Property Taxes going out going out after Dec 5 and before Dec 18
Sheri met with Cynthia Chaplin and was given the cemetery listing Access file and Publisher files.
Ashleson Driveway Variance:
The board reviewed the driveway variance for Dave Ashleson and Dave discussed the issues of getting the driveway variance.
A motion was made by Barry to approve the driveway variance for David Ashleson and Dean seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Oakwood Cemetery:
Jim stated that he had the New Haven cemetery information.
Need to gather more information from other neighboring cemeteries.
Dean made a motion to table the discussion to next meeting and Jim seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Building Code Ordinance:
Discussion on clarification on what accessory buildings are.
Dean made a motion that accessory buildings includes hoop, portable and containers greater than 200 sq feet and Barry seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Assessor Contract Proposal:
A motion was made by Barry to accept the assessor contract proposal from Tamarack Springs Assessing, LLC. Seconded by Jim. Motion carried.
Adopt the 2024 Budget:
A motion was made by Dean to adopt the 2024 Springfield Town Budget. Seconded by Jim. Motion carried.
Recycling/ Maintenance Report:
All four new culverts have been installed on 280th Street.
New truck is being worked on at Universal with an estimate mid-December delivery date.
Chairman Report:
Dean reported on the TRI road grant has been submitted.
