Monday, March 14, 2022, Regular Meeting
The REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING for the Town of Springfield was called to order by Chairman Dean Fayerweather at 6:33 p.m. PRESENT: Chairman Dean Fayerweather, Supervisors Jim Mahoney & Barry Ketchum, Clerk/Treasurer Sheri Erickson, Mark Erickson, and Martha Erickson.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Jim & 2nd by Barry to approve the Regular February minutes as presented. Motion carried.
The February financial report was read. A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Jim to approve the report as read. Motion carried.
Clerk report : Sheri updated the board on several items including: the WTA District Meetings and the new rule on Board of Review Training, the county recycling grant status, the financial record update with the auditor picking up the files and camera installation.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to approve the bills to be paid in March at a total of $12,008.16. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Jim to change the April regular meeting date to the third Tuesday of April 19, 2022. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean & 2nd by Barry to give the clerk the authority to pay the April bills before the April meeting. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Barry & 2nd by Dean to purchase a new laser printer not to exceed $550. Motion carried.
Discussion on ARPA fund : Barry reported that there was no change in the ruling since the last meeting. Jim reported on the findings about the furnace repair and replacement furnace, A/C unit, and HEPA unit. Barry moved to table the ARPA discussion until later and Dean 2nd. Motion carried.
Discussion on clerk office : Board expressed their feelings on the ARPA funding uses. Dean moved to table the clerk office discussion until later and Barry 2nd. Motion carried.
Recycling/ Maintenance Report: Mark stated road bans going up on Wednesday, March 16th. The dumpster with the hole will be replaced by P.I.G.
Chairman Report: Dean reported on his findings on the BIL road grant.
Public Input: There was a question on whether accepting the grant would increase taxes. Also a comment surprised the township did not already have fire proof filing cabinets.
